Insight
When I started playing tabletop role playing games in 2018, I didn’t realize how many game mechanics would translate into everyday life. One of the realizations was how to dissect your day to day life into questions, rather than simply “problems.”
I’m having a bad day - this day couldn’t get any worse - what can I do - all these questions defer to fatalism, which is a poor use of fate that drives us into helplessness.
Instead, like heroes of old, start helping yourself and watch heaven help you. You can do this by asking these great questions about any encounter you have in life, even if it is a level 23 black dragon.
Questions
For this special Sunday - the 10 questions are available to everyone! Make sure to check out more of my daily journal prompts. I aim to write my way through life, have amazing experiences and moments and then write about the frameworks that made them possible.
What can I see? Pay attention to what is happening around me.
What can I uncover and learn?
What can I reserve for mystery - some things uncover in time.
What can I fight? What stands in my way?
What can I acquire as my own?
Who can help me along the way? Who hinders my progress?
What do I already know that can aid my problem? Have I been here before?
What can go wrong? What must I compromise to win?
What is the risk for this encounter? What can I lose?
What is the reward from this encounter? What will I gain?
Take the action steps below in order to graduate from victim thinking to heroic action. May your story continue, sojourner.
