Every hero of any story has a backstory.
I like to remember this because everyone I meet has a life before our shared present moment and will have a life long after I have left. I look at it like I am joining a person in life “in media res” or in the middle of the action. But I assume they have had a life before and will have a life beyond this present.
I remember a patient of mine apologizing for struggling to get out of bed. I reassured him, “sir, I chose a profession where I meet people at their worst - you can have a bad day.”
This seemed to cheer him up as he realized that he has had better days and there was no shame in struggling due to his illness.
Every hero has a story - and a backstory and I am interested in hearing both.
Below is the attachment for the homeschool class worksheet. I designed it for fantasy characters - but hey, they might be good questions to ask someone you love.

This is for the Tabletop Stories Challenge, correct?
