Each of us have an interface - a program that helps us engage with the world as well as helping the world engage with us. I think it is a lot like a front porch to a house. Not everyone is welcome in your home, nor at all times (that’s having 0 boundaries) but pretty much anyone can approach your porch.
I think I may have spent TOO much time in my life curating my front porch and forgetting that I have a deep inner world (the rest of the house). That’s been it’s own problem.
I exist for more than meeting the needs of those at my front porch. Also, this house belongs to me - I should care for it.
Having to learn those lessons the hard way has led me to journaling.
